6:2. ‘Bow’
Greek #5115 tŏxŏn ‘a bow’.
Hebrew #07198 qesheth from #07185 in the original sense of ‘bending,’ from #06983, qôwsh, ‘to set a trap’. ‘A bow for shooting’. #7185 qâshâh.’to be dense, i.e. tough, or severe’. Its root meaning seems to come from the idea of ‘bending’, therefore the expression “draw the bow” might refer to drawing an arc. It is used figuratively of might.
BDB: (1) ‘bow for hunting or battle,’ figuratively ‘of might’ ‘of divine judgment’.
