Why the Book of Leviticus?

Establish A Nation God’s Way

It was God’s will to live with His people from the time of the Garden of Eden, Genesis 2:8, all the way to the Book of Revelation 21:

Leviticus 26:11-12: “And I will set my tabernacle among you; and my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.”

Revelation 21:3: “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people and God himself shall be with them and be their God.”

The Book of Leviticus is the account of God’s instructions to Moses on how to establish a nation under God.

But sadly, the original nation of Israel did not keep the order of the instructions given in the Book of Leviticus, but turned from their loving Creator to worship idols and commit all of the forbidden sins that brought destruction, disease, death, famine, pestilence, war, and all of the other consequences that were described in the Book of Leviticus. In their state of rebellion, God could not dwell with them. Their disobedience brought the promised consequences, as described by the Biblical books of their history and the prophets.

But still a Holy Nation Was Promised

But through it all, God was true to His promise that He, Himself, would send them a Savior, Who would save them from their sins and the consequences of their sins. This promise was fulfilled in the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Although the fleshly, sinful nation refused Him and was finally destroyed in the destruction of 70 AD, God had raised up a new nation in Jesus, His Body, the Church, which, in Christ, fulfilled all of the requirements for a nation of people with which He could be pleased to dwell. In Christ, the law is written in our hearts and it gives us the intuitive, natural desire and motivation to fulfill the commandments of the law. The law is no longer grievous.

The Schoolmaster

The original specific laws and statutes and ordinances were necessary for law and order in the fleshly nation. These were designed to teach them:“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith, but after that faith is come we are no longer under a schoolmaster.”

The lessons to be learned from the “schoolmaster” are spelled out and made clear in the New Testament. For example, all of the Levitical ordinances of sacrifice are to teach us Romans 12:1: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.,”

Galatians 2:19-20: “For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me: and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

The Broken Wall of Family and Home

The Broken Wall

A nation cannot be stronger than its families. The homes of the United States of America have been viciously attacked and the walls broken down, leaving the children to the merciless power of cruel, bloodthirsty predators. We must rebuild the broken down walls of the home and family.

Satan’s original strategy was to pervert and destroy the sanctity of the sexual relationship between the man and the woman. This contaminates the whole process of reproduction so that the Seed becomes unholy and so inherits the results of the curse.

Keeping God’s Covenant

God chose to make His Covenant with Abraham, because: “I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him,” Genesis 18:19. See also Deuteronomy 6:4-9. Keeping and teaching the Word of God was the condition for inheriting all the good promises.

In the founding of the United States of America, the Constitution and other founding documents were based upon the authority of the Bible. This furnished a strong foundation and wall of protection so that families and homes could be protected and thrive. Yes, “Satan came also,” but the ‘Wall’ of Truth’ stood firm for those who would stay within its borders.

Satan’s Challenge

Satan challenged this Wall of Truth in many ways and for many years. One of his most successful ploys was to involve the USA in the carnal warfare of the world in WWI and WWII, making it appear to be the holy and righteous thing to do. He deceived the nation by the Big Lie that God was fulfilling Hls promise to Abraham by bringing the “Jews” back to the land of Palestine, pretending that the fleshly lineage, DNA, was still alive and well in their carnal, mortal bodies.

This deception has been carried forward to result in our present-day state of eternal carnal warfare throughout the world. But worst of all, it has resulted in the glorification of the anti-Christian nation, calling themselves ‘Israel,’ and their doctrine as preserved in their Talmud, which they take to be their authority, and the Zohar, which is their manual on performing witchcraft. This results in their powerful opposition to Christ and Christianity which has become the popular cult in our culture, as it is today.

The “Sexual Revolution”

The foundations of the home and family, as protected by the ‘Wall of Truth,’ were viciously attacked in the “sexual revolution” which swept over the land like a great tsunami wave in the 1960s and 70s. It was popularized by the entertainment industry, riding into almost every home on the newly popularized televisions, movies, and music. Rebellion, unrestrained sexuality, rejection of Biblical Christianity, so-called “Women’s Lib,” flooded into family life, education, and government. The drug culture took possession of multitudes of youth, destroying their lives and potential productivity, bringing in diseases, deformities, abused and neglected children and homelessness.

So where are we now? Can God find a man to “build the wall” and to “stand in the gap”? Some history:

Ezekiel 22:30: “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”

The Word of the Lord unto Ezekiel was concerning the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 B.C. So Jerusalem was destroyed. The temple was burned with fire, along with all the houses of the City. Its walls were completely broken down. Multitudes were killed and many were exiled into Babylon.

The land lay desolate for many years. After 70 years, a very small remnant returned under Zerubabel and again under Ezra, who with much opposition tried to rebuild the temple and again establish the nation. But the wall was not built and finished until Nehemiah answered the call of God to this task.

A Wall-Builder was found:

The Book of Nehemiah is the account of his calling and work of rebuilding the wall. He organized the work so that every man built the portion of the wall adjacent to his own home. They were working, not only to re-establish the nation but to establish and protect their own family and property.

Nehemiah began by teaching the people the Word of God and renewing the Covenant. He continued by calling the people to repentance and purging the marriages, putting away unlawful spouses.

The wall builders not only worked with their building tools but also carried their weapons of defense, for they worked under the threat of attack from their enemies. “For the builders, every one, had his sword girded by his side, and so builded,” Nehemiah 4:18. And so “The wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days,” Nehemiah 6:15.

Where are the men who will stand in the gap for our nation,

swords and spears of the Holy Spirit in their hearts and minds, building tools in their hands, trained, skilled, dedicated, determined, ready and willing to suffer ridicule, and hard labor?

These are the heroes required by the USA at this point in time. It is the challenge of our historical moment. Will we answer God’s call to be that Man He is looking for? Or will we allow our nation to be robbed, burned with fire, taken into captivity, and relegated to the ashes of history?

Cannabidiol, CBD, Good or Bad?

Dear Christa,

In answer to your post regarding Cannabidiol, CBD, I will write my comment here, as there are several others interested in this subject.

After a brief search of internet articles, I did not find any that said that CBD was addictive or that it gave one a ‘high’, although there were some ‘minor’ side effects possible. At best, the present state of the research should not be considered as the last word. Neither did I find any articles that said it restored the body to health.

PAIN

I have had my share of pain in my lifetime and fully understand how desperate we can be to find relief from pain. So, why pain? Basically, pain is the body crying out for something it is starved for, or for something that has attacked it. I believe we can safely say that pain does not indicate a deficiency of CBD. Although there is evidence that CBD may relieve some pain in some cases temporarily, only getting to the root cause of the pain is the only thing that will restore health and vitality.

The Root of the Problem

To get to the root of the problem, what is our Life? We are a Spirit; we have a soul, (mind, will, and emotions), we live in a body. When the Spirit leaves the body, the body is dead. Proverbs 18:14: “The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?” The spirit of a man must be nourished and defended against attack. God’s Word, the Bible, is Spirit and Life, John 6:63: “It is the Spirit that quickeneth (makes alive); the flesh profiteth nothing.” When people reject the Word of God, they choose to reject His healing Life:

Matthew 13:15: “For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”

Limitations of Science

Science is good so long as we understand its proper place and function. It can only deal with the physical and material; it cannot deal with the Spirit of God, nor the spirit of Man. The physical, material person will die, but his spirit will live on. This physical death is so dreaded, and we naturally see pain as a precursor of death. But Christ came to give us hope beyond this physical existence; by His Life, death and resurrection He purchased eternal life for us. He offers it freely to “whosoever will.”  This eternal life begins when we surrender to Him and accept His Life. This hope gives us the peace that is so necessary to healing of the body, which houses the soul.

RESOURCES

There are many resources available to help us understand how to participate in God’s healing and health. Here’s some that I have found helpful:

  1. The Holy Bible, all of it. Read it; meditate on it; obey God’s commandments; surrender to Him; accept His salvation, peace, and eternal Life.
  2. The video series: Bible Health Secrets, produced in connection with the Loma Linde Hospital and research center in Loma Linde, California, affiliated with the Seventh Day Adventists..
  3. Dr. Don Colbert’s book: Let Food Be Your Medicine, available at Amazon or Kenneth Copeland Ministries website.
  4. Be blessed!

Health Care – A Misnomer

The Problem

One of the major problems facing the legislature of the United States of America is the so-called “Health Care Plan.” The major reason this issue cannot be solved is because they are not dealing with the real issue, Health, but rather with the issue of Sickness. It is a Sickness-Care plan.

The “Plan” is all about providing more doctor-visits, more prescriptions, more hospitalizations, more surgeries, more tests, and more medical diagnoses, more pain relief. This, you see, is about sickness. It indicates that we, as a nation are sick, and, as a nation, we are agreeing with that.

Obviously, all of these things will not make us healthy, but which will only possibly give us temporary relief, sometimes leading to even more pain and disability. We must, rather, deal with the problem of how to be healthy.

The Solution

For example, start with “Why are we so sick?” The major reasons are: inactivity, idleness, self-indulgence. This life-style leads to physical and moral decay; obesity, addictions and irresponsibility.

When God created Mankind, He gave them dominion, responsibility and accountability, over all Flesh, which included Man’s own Flesh, physical and moral accountability and responsibility for self-control and discipline. He ordained the sacrificial rituals to teach us that the Flesh must be sacrificed and be subordinate to the Spirit.

When Cain failed to present an appropriate sacrifice of flesh, God warned him: “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him,” Genesis 4:7. The imagery here of “sin lieth at the door,” is that of a wild carnivorous beast crouching at the door of your house, ready to spring on you. God warns Cain: “Thou shalt rule over him.” We are to rule over sin by sacrificing the Flesh.

How To Do It

Romans 12:1-2 puts this into proper perspective: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”

Sacrificing the Flesh means controlling your appetites, for food, drink, sex, power, selfishness, etc. In case this is not perfectly clear, Galatians 5:16-21 describes it thoroughly:

Galatians 5:16 KJV – [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (17)  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. (18) But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. (19) Now the works of the flesh are manifest which are these: Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, (21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

The definition of ‘revelings’ is: “Rebellion, over indulgence in eating or other pleasures.” These “works of the Flesh” clearly describe what is involved in a sacrifice of our Flesh. While it may seem to be depriving us unnecessarily, yet it is for the good, the well-being and the health of the whole person, including the Flesh.

To make this process even clearer, we have Colossians 2:12; 3:1-6: “Buried with Him, [Christ] in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead…. 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. (2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. (4) When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (5) Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: (6) For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.”

The word ‘mortify’ means to slay, kill, that is, to sacrifice.

True “Health-Care” requires the sacrifice of the Flesh.

Answering Pornograhpy’s Threat

Pornography’s Threat

Pornography has been brought into our very homes by the Internet and can be accessed anywhere, anytime by anyone with internet service on a computer or Smart Phone. That includes most teenagers in the USA.  At this stage of development, youth are most inquisitive and impressionable about their sexuality. They are asking questions and seeking answers. Unfortunately, they are being offered answers by the enemy of their souls, Satan, through the wide-open doors of the World Wide Web.

Is it Dangerous?

Should we be concerned? Yes! The impressions and attitudes they may learn from pornography can ruin their lives and their relationships and result in the breakdown of the entire social order. It is not a joke to be laughed off, or winked at. It is a matter of life and death, of eternity in heaven or hell.

What is the Problem?

Basically the problem is the age-old problem of good against evil; of the warfare between the Flesh and the Spirit.

What is the Answer?

If children are brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, by the time they are teenagers they should be aware of the basic Truths of the Scripture. Specifically, that there is a God, the Creator of heaven and earth; that He is a God of love while also being a Holy God at the same time; that He has given us His commandments; that He has given us the privilege and responsibility of making important choices between good and evil; that our Selves consist of Body, (our Flesh), Soul, (our mind, will and emotions), and Spirit, (our real eternal Self; that there is a warfare between our Bodies and our Spirit.  That, if we allow our Flesh to rule and thereby fulfill its lusts, it brings death upon us. It takes us into the dark and dreadful confusion of pain, grief, guilt, and ultimately eternal hell.

They should know that God is a Spirit and relates to us through our spirit, inviting us to follow and fellowship with HIm, teaching us what is good and what is bad, offering us His Holy Spirit to live within us. Offering us forgiveness and reconciliation when we sin, fail to follow HIm, and fall into the traps of the devil.

But He, God, leaves the choices to us. The choices are: Life or Death? Light or Darkness? Grief, pain, guilt, and sorrow or Love, Joy, Peace, and Goodness.

We must teach our children, both by precept and example, from their earliest years, how to know, love, and obey God. If we wait until they are teenagers, they will suffer the consequences of tragic choices, for Satan has his traps set and pornography is one of his most alluring and deadly traps.
